Brakes
Many cyclists dislike fixed gear riders because many of us do not run brakes of any sort. The justification for this is the fixed wheel itself. If you know how to lock it up and initiate a skid, you can stop the bicycle without a handbrake.
Personally, I do not run a brake currently. A little while ago, I did run a rear brake with a lever on my top tube but that wasn’t an effective means...
